There are few agricultural opportunities that can hold a candle to Val’s farmers’ day. This is an out-and-out demonstration festival for farmers who want to see how efficiently the tractors and implements really work.
The technology has impressed small and large farmers. AFGRI says: It is also about us networking with our customers and providing support to agricultural communities to ensure sustainability in agriculture and make farming more efficient. This year there were about 2,800 farmers and 143 exhibitors.
AFGRI
AFGRI Equipment has been involved in the event as the main sponsor since the beginning of Val Boeredag. As a John Deere distributor, AFGRI brings every year an impressive range of John Deere tractors and equipment to show to farmers, as well as a selection of the other equipment distributed and technically supported by AFGRI, such as LEMKEN, Falcon, Rovic Leers, Equalizer and JCB.

Havco
Havco in Standerton has been manufacturing the highest quality agricultural equipment for 35 years. “Our most popular products are used in the feedlot industry. This includes roughage processing machines that cut grass, manure spreaders and handling facilities such as neck and body clamps, ”says Dolf Volschenk. “We also have a unique hydraulic processing unit that the feedlots love very much. On the arable building side, we build grain sieves, loading wagons and many other tools such as fine seed planters. Havco also does purposeful work and if a farmer comes to us with a plan, we can produce it, ”he says.
Havco is also the agent for Gallaghar, CropTech and Diamond Implements. Dolf Volschenk stands here with the largest grain sieve in Havco’s range, which can handle 120 tons per hour.

“Last year, BASF launched a herbicide called Intelex and achieved very good results,” says Ignus van Rooyen, who staffed their stall with Gert van Tonder.
“Intelexis is a pre-emergence product formulated from brand new chemistry that shortens resistant weeds.”
BASF has also developed new insecticides, fungicides and herbicides, which will soon make their appearance.
